This antique Victorian Etruscan Revival locket/pendant is a beautifully preserved example of 19th-century craftsmanship. The gold-filled locket features intricate applied work on the front, framing a delicately engraved fern motif at its center. The back is equally captivating, adorned with an engraved floral design. Opening to reveal two photo compartments, the locket still holds two original photos, though the cello liners are absent.
In Victorian symbolism, ferns represented sincerity and humility, while floral motifs often conveyed sentiments of love, remembrance, and beauty. These delicate engravings make this locket not only a stunning accessory but also a sentimental artifact of a bygone era.
