Vintage Italian Silver Aquarius Zodiac Pendant with Roman Nike by Pietro Giampaoli

This beautiful silver Aquarius zodiac pendant by famed medalist, Pietro Giampaoli (1898-1998) who was appointed chief engraver of the Italian Mint in 1936. Thhe pendant is double-sided:

On one side, Aquarius is represented by the image of a god-like water bearer  surrounded by celestial stars. Aquarius the zodiac sign that represents those born January 22-February 23

On the opposite side, the medallion depicts a scene from ancient Roman art: a chariot driven by a winged Victory about to crown a charioteer.

It is an extraordinary unisex pendant.
The hallmark testifies that the jewel was made in Arezzo around the middle of the last century and signed by the designer, Pietro Giampaoli.

The signature of the well-known silversmiths of UNO A ERRE is also present.
