This beautiful silver Virgo zodiac pendant by famed medalist, Pietro Giampaoli (1898-1998) who was appointed chief engraver of the Italian Mint in 1936. Thhe pendant is double-sided:
On one side, Virgo is represented by the image of a goddess surrounded by celestial stars.Virgo is the zodiac sign that represents those born August 22-September 23
On the opposite side, the medallion depicts a scene from ancient Roman art: a chariot driven by a winged Victory about to crown a charioteer.
It is an extraordinary unisex pendant. The hallmark testifies that the jewel was made in Arezzo around the middle of the last century and signed by the designer, Pietro Giampaoli.
